Sharing Development Leads and Identifying Needs
To enhance philanthropic support for our college, this Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) establishes a clear process for submitting donor leads and identifying funding needs.
Purpose
This SOP empowers CHSE faculty and staff to:
- Share potential donor leads (individuals, corporations, or foundations with interest and capacity to give)
- Identify specific funding needs that align with unit, college, and university priorities
Without shared leads, gifts can't happen. Without clear needs, funding can't be directed.
What Qualifies
Development Leads
Anyone with the capacity and inclination to support CHSE’s mission
Development Needs
Philanthropic support for:
- Students – Scholarships, travel, research, and experiential learning
- Faculty – Equipment, travel, instructional/research support
- Naming Opportunities – Spaces, programs, units
- Other – Aligned with college priorities
Why This Matters
Major gifts take 18–36 months to close. This SOP starts that process, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and engaged from the beginning.
How to Submit
Use the submission portal to log leads and needs. Development officers will coordinate the next steps.
This is your opportunity to shape the future of CHSE. Every lead and need matters.
