LSU Percussion Ensemble "Hamiruge" Invited to Perform at PASIC 2025

The LSU School of Music is proud to announce that Hamiruge - The LSU Percussion Group has been invited to perform at the 2025 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), one of the most world's most prestigious gatherings for percussionists, educators, and performers. This year's convention will be held November 12-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Under the direction of Dr. Brett Dietz, Carolyn Mattax Professor of Percussion, the ensemble will be presenting the New Literature Session–a featured concert that showcases exceptional, quality literature for percussion ensemble written within the last five years. This honor places LSU's percussionists on a global stage, spotlighting their artistry, precision, and leadership in advancing the field of contemporary percussion music.

PASIC is the flagship event of the Percussive Arts Society and features a wide spectrum of percussion performance and education–ranging from drum set, marching percussion, symphonic, and keyboard, to world music, technology, and health & wellness. The convention draws thousands of percussion professionals, students, and enthusiasts annually, making it a premier platform for artistic exchange and discovery.
