Housed in Coates Hall on the LSU Quad, the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies is the home for students and scholars in two separate humanistic disciplines. The Philosophy program introduces students to fundamental philosophical questions, the use of logic, and the history of philosophy, while the Religious Studies program introduces students both to the world's religions and to the critical analysis of the way that religion is used in our world. Our faculty are national leaders in high quality research who challenge students to venture into new and fascinating intellectual terrains.
